Sim Rules

 

 

This sim is an "adult" sim according to Linden Labs guidelines. You must be of legal age (18 years of age or older) with an age verified account.

 

These sim rules are separate from the city laws. City laws are In-Character Laws that apply to everyone within the walls of the city. Sim rules apply to anyone and everyone at all times.

City laws will be available to read in the city library. Ignorance of any city law is not immunity from that law. Go to the library to read the city laws once they are placed or learn about them through role play. Be careful with this, as many in the city may not be fully aware of the very laws they live under.

 

ANY FEMALE OUTLAWS, aka panthergirls or talunas etc. MUST contact a moderator before entering RP in/with the city of Jasmine in order to establish if a realistic and plausible reason exists for them being there.

 

Jasmine will only honour the RP of a BC who has knowledge of the rules and laws connected with the caste. We demand no OOC training in any certain group but any RP that have a major impact on any other RPer MUST be book based or it will be deemed invalid. To hunt in Jasmine a BC must first contact either the MA of Jasmine, or a senior moderator to establish that there is a VALID IC reason for the hunt. Using OOC information, aka METAGAMING, to hunt in Jasmine will be cause for a BAN.

 

Only adult human form or acceptable Gorean animal are allowed to enter RP. If any non human, or documented Gorean spices enters the docks and IC RP area, they may be ejected on spot without any warning. Animals allowed, with emote only actions - no speech, no thoughts. If wild and aggressive - once captured or killed, may not return for a minimum of 24 hours in sim and not more often than three times per week. Generally NO kurii allowed unless in EXTREME exceptions, which would have to be cleared with a mod first. We do not condone or allow any form of underage RP and we do not permit the use of child or underage avatars. Nor will avatars excessively small/short or huge/tall be allowed. No matter what your RL height is you will follow the average size of avatars in SL if you wish to play here. Shortest allowed avatar limit is 1,70m or 5'6".  Only exception is if you wish to play for example a dwarf or midget but in that case you better have an avatar appropriate for that purpose. All avatars no exceptions have to be  30 days or older to become a citizen and full member of Jasmine. If your avatar is less than 30 days, you can still become a prospect.

 

As this sim will not be for all, we expect those who enter to know the basics in RP. Such as not to mix IC and OOC, write words out correctly instead of using acronyms or symbols like omg, lol, :-) etc. Not to use the weapons that causes meter damage as a compensation for your lacking in RP but to play it realistic and use argument and maybe fists against an unarmed instead of a sword or an ax. We will expect you to know better than to Godmod, powerplay or metagame. To know better than to use passive aggressive and abusive thought emotes or to log, TP or fly in RP area and plain sight. And to know better than to play your alts in the same sim. This is an ENGLISH speaking RP sim. This means that the language spoken in local will be ENGLISH. any other language will be only allowed in IMs and for the best flow of IC RP, translators will not be allowed for our permanent members and citizens. Short time visitors are allowed though.

 

The city of Jasmine is part of a high traffic and vibrant trade route along the river Vosk. This city is not impenetrable, the gates are always open as it is to be a city of merchants and tradesmen.

Closed gates do not only kill RP OOC but would also kill a city who lives out of trade IC.

 

NOTE ON SLAVE THEFT: Please. Don't bother. It is more implausible than not. You must have a real role play reason for this nonsense other than to 'generate role play'. Slave theft will make you an outlaw against the city of Jasmine. To know what happens to outlaws who make crimes against the city, it is highly recommended you read the City Laws in our Library.

Try if you feel lucky but be aware of the consequences.

Any members of Jasmine forcefully abducted from sim will have a 4 day capture limit unless they set their own preferences in their profile or agree to any other time limit with their abductor. Taking any members from Jasmine to a GE sim will NOT be considered as valid and the member may TP back to Jasmine without any IC or OOC reason whatsoever.

 

NOTE TO FREE MEN: There are only three ways to legally collar a women within city limits, no matter what her home stone is: 1) She submits willingly, 2) You are the head of her immediate familiy (i.e. she is your daughter) and 3) through the pressing of charges and a magistrate's hearing and/or trial. Any other method of attempting to collar a woman will bring charges against you. Again, try but be aware of the consequences.

 

ADDITIONALLY: Greeting is a complex thing and subject to how you are taught and the specific Gorean culture you are part of. What does not change though, no matter how it is done, is that the Free were greeted with respect - all Free regardless of social status, caste or wealth. You are not required to stop and ask to keep going on your way when passing Free. When speaking to any Free, greet from a position of subservience and within reach of the group of Free you address. Your final word to any Free is to be "Yes Master / Mistress .." or a departing wish as you do not command Free.

IMPORTANT: The first person who calls "invalid" will be presumed the one in the wrong. If calling "invalid" you can be immediately ejected from the sim for three days, unless your claim is verified. The word "Invalid" is a horribly offensive expletive in this sim. Just don't do it. Whatever happens: Role-play it out! Just like Real Life - ANYTHING can happen.

This sim is for those who recognise that such a thing as BTB Gor does not really exists. It is in fact an impossibility unless you only wish to RP the scenes from the books exactly as written.

We do our best though, to be as close to the books as possible, using known laws, rules and standards/expectations of Gorean society, whether is is in a city as glorious Ar or a small mud-pool in the middle of the marshes. And when/if something occurs that are NOT covered by the same, common sense will be the guideline in Jasmine that IC will be run by a counsel.

 

OOC Jasmine is run by the SimOwner, Jade Tolwen who will consider that all are equal OOC, whether you play a simple pot slave, a baker or the Ubar himself. Most players have invested both a lot of time and effort as well as money to create their characters and that should not be so easily 'killed' off just because one is a free and the victim a mere slave. OOC the roles might be reversed. Do not do onto others what you do not want done to you. But in the same time remember.. YOU will have to take the consequences of your own RP, so think twice.

Membership in Jasmine is a privilege and not a right and can be revoked at any time by sim owner/sim manager if you are found to be abusing your position or in any way damaging the sim. 

 

As this sim have few RP rules as you would find in other sims, we rely on the people coming here to play, to have the knowledge of both Gor and RP needed to be enough. It is also the reason why all that comes need to fill in an application AND still be on a 30 days probation before he/she, if they pass, will be allowed in as a member. We DO however have plenty of RP guidelines to let you know what we expect from you as well as what you can expect from other players.

After all, the expectation of courteous, respectful behaviour and having fun with our rp is why we are here.
